 Volunteer Advocate Job Description

Advocates are chosen because they are passionate about the connection between horses and humans. They are knowledgeable about HHRF, inspiring others to embrace the work, and encouraging them to support it.

Duties include, but are not limited to, any or all of the following:

Inspire - bring your passion for the HHRF mission to everyone you know

Learn - HHRF’s messaging, key talking points, goals and objectives

Network - identify potential donors, sponsors, fundraisers and other volunteers

Connect - HHRF Board members and others with corporations, associations and community organizations, opening doors to new relationships and resources

Endorse - HHRF social media within personal and professional networks

Promote – HHRF’s mission and goals among your circles of influence

Communicate - Present webinars, give talks at civic and social events, write and/or review articles, engage with individuals, groups + organizations as a spokesperson on behalf of HHRF, and through social media postings, blogs, etc.

Recruit- recruit other volunteers and possible committee members for HHRF projects

Support – the HHRF Education Committee with assignments where + when needed

General Information

·         This is a non-paid, volunteer role supporting HHRF’s mission and goals.

·         Advocate candidates must complete an Advocate Program Intake Form and be selected to fulfill the role.

·         A minimum of one year commitment is requested.

·         Advocates are required to participate in outreach planning and ongoing engagement with the HHRF Board and other Advocates to ensure alignment with HHRF’s mission and goals.

· Being an advocate is helping in many ways but the best example is showing support with a monetary contribution to continue the 100% participation with our HHRF team.
